Surrounded by mountains and green land, HIEX is located in the middle of natural land, side by side with the locals. The site and surroundings will partially be a future touristic destination. The design of HIEX intends to picture an image of the originality of the land itself as a farmland. “Return to home and harvesting nature” becomes the key point of experiences that are introduced to the hotel visitors that also hopes to integrate the architecture with the context and most importantly the local people. The architecture sits humbly on a vast natural landscape and rather concentrate on how the visitors experiencing the discoveries and explorations that the hotel could offer. It is about the beautiful narrative that is present at every pocket space of the building and landscape. It is about being accompanied by nature and picturesque landscape. The building consists of few blocks that are organized in such way to create a partially enclosed Chinese courtyard. The blocks arrangement characterizes the local culture where the local people lives harmoniously together. The dynamic pitch roof mimics the local West Sichuan architecture. The landscape plays an important role as the context of home and harvesting nature. It contains not only the nostalgia of what it is a Chinese garden in contemporary way but also provides cultural and educational activities that engages the users to experience the returning to harvesting nature.
