Huzhou was one of the cradles of silk culture, it was also one of the four capitals of silk production in Chinese history. Huzhou was always a prosperous city with heavy culture heritage. The design is inspired by the local idea of “twin mountains”. It emphasises the connection between human and nature. The goal of “twin mountains” reflects by the oriental philosophy of respecting humanity, the harmony development among the individual, the society, and the nature. The architecture language is very modern and clean, whilst it presents the metaphor of the “twin mountains” which connects the Courthouse and the local heritage. The spaces created by the compound are modern and human which are the characters of the Courthouse of a new era.public.
